Chronogram 8-Day Week: Roller Derby in Hyde Park

  |  March 6, 2014

horrors

Here are two strong options for weekend fun: A roller derby home bout with the Hudson Valley Horrors at Hyde Park Roller Magic (doors at 6pm, $10/ticket), or the writers of “Good Bye to All That: Writers on Loving and Leaving New York” presenting a talk at the Hudson Opera House at 5pm (’tis free, perhaps?). They are both on Saturday night, far away from each other (about an hour away), so we can only pick one. So if you’re close to Hyde Park, go see some roller derby. It sounds boisterous and fun, and a portion of the proceeds goes to GLSEN. Or, if you’re close to Hudson, go get the dirt on why some of our favorite writers left New York City. We’ve previously talked up “Good Bye to All That”, an anthology edited by Sari Botton and featuring the work of Botton and a host of other writers, and we would love to attend this presentation (the event mentions Botton, Chloe Caldwell, and Rebecca Wolff, but also says, “and additional writers”…who are they?). Looks like we’ll be flipping a coin. What’s your vote for Saturday night?
