Tasting Rhinebeck

  |  April 3, 2014

taste of rhinebeck

The only way to improve on a stroll through the Dutchess County village of Rhinebeck is to include some top-notch noshing along the way. That’s what the Taste of Rhinebeck is all about. This year marks the 10th annual Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation event with over 20 restaurants and purveyors of tasty food and drink participating on Tuesday, April 8th at 6pm. A cool $100 gets you a taste of absolutely everything, and the proceeds go to benefit the Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation.

Also of interest in this week’s Chronogram 8-Day Week newsletter:

– Anyone who grew up watching Pete’s Dragon will recognize singer/actor Jim Dale’s face immediately as villainous Doc Terminus. Anyone younger than that will recognize Jim Dale’s voice immediately as every character in the Harry Potter audiobook series (in fact, to many, Jim Dale was the Harry Potter universe embodied, since the audiobook came out long before the movies were made). He’s performing his signature song and dance act at Club Helsinki, Hudson, on Sunday, April 6th. Reserved seats $50/bar seating $30.

– We really wanted to see the Neil Gaiman conversation with Art Spiegelman at Bard College on Friday, April 4th, but we heard it sold out almost immediately. So if you don’t already have tickets to this, you might want to find an alternative plan for Friday night.
