Chronogram 8-Day Week: Two in Beacon

What to do…what to do. There are two events in Beacon tickling our fancy this weekend. First off, there’s the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) being performed at the Beacon Theater. We love CWWS (A) (we’re even on initials-basis with it) so much, and we’ve seen versions of it lots of times, and none of them have ever been remotely the same. Lit-nerds: Jump on this one, even if you’ve seen it before. It opens Friday, 1/10 and runs through 1/19. Buy your tickets here.

But what about the “Vanishing Roadside” exhibit at Hudson Beach Glass on Main Street in Beacon? Roadside culture is so intriguing to us, and with the advent of interstate highways, the best places to find it, like good old Route 66, are disappearing before our very eyes. The exhibit features the photography of Mary Anne Erickson and closes on Saturday, January 11th with a reception. Maybe do Abridged Shakespeare on Friday then Vanishing Roadsides on Saturday? Which would you choose?
