Welcome Back, Stewart House
8-Day Week | May 29, 2014Back in 2011, the Stewart House, an 8-room boutique hotel in Athens, was damaged by flooding caused by Tropical Storm Irene. They closed down for a while in order to complete the repairs and renovations, and now they’re back and ready to reopen this Saturday, March 31st from 7pm-10pm in their River Garden Bar. The grand reopening party will include food, drinks, and dancing. Free water taxi provided from the city of Hudson across the Hudson. More details on the Facebook event page. If you’re thinking that the Stewart House rings a bell, it’s because it was mentioned in this NYT article we posted the other day about former NYC residents who’ve headed upstate to open hotels and motels. Also of note: The hotel’s owner, Owen Lisptein, interviewed Dr. Maya Angelou for InsideOut Magazine back in 2009. Read his interview with her here on his blog.
