Cosmos-on-the-Hudson
Kandy Harris | May 5, 2014If you’ve been on the fence about signing up for a Walkway Over the Hudson membership, here’s a good reason to get on the ball: Membership, which costs $40/year, awards you the opportunity to experience something special on the Walkway on Saturday, May 10th. Astronomer Bob Berman will give members a guided tour of a rare astronomical event in which all of the solar system’s planets (except Venus) will be visible in the sky, creating a sight not unlike a giant string of pearls across the night. Not only will telescopes be provided so that participants can see the planetary majesty up close, but Berman will be presenting a lecture in his signature charming, witty, and accessible way. Gates will open at 8pm and lecture begins at 8:15. If Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, a cloud date will be held on May 11. Speaking of mothers, Mother’s Day is this weekend, and a Walkway membership would make a great gift. More info on this and other members-only events here. Sign up for a membership here.
