At the intersection of magic and Surrealism, we’ll find David London. The Baltimore-based magician incorporates the elements of Surrealism that delve deep into the hidden depths of the psyche and combines them with the whimsy and mystery of illusion to create a singular type of magic act. Intrigued? Confused? If the answer to those questions is “yes”, then you might be interested in London’s Weekend of Magic, March 14-16, at the Seligmann Center for the Performing Arts in Sugar Loaf (GMAP). The Seligmann Center is named for renowned Surrealist artist Kurt Seligmann, and it’s the perfect venue for London to expose audiences to his unique brand of magic. You can find out more about David London here in this Chronogram article. London’s Weekend of Magic consists of three separate events: On Friday and Saturday nights, he’ll be presenting “Magic Outside the Box”. Tickets to this show are $30 for VIP front-row seats, $20 for general admission, and $15 for students, artists, seniors, or “wizards” (scroll to the bottom of the ticket page to view info on how to get the discount). The Adventure to the Imagi Nation Family Show is scheduled for Saturday afternoon and is free. On Sunday, London will be conducting a workshop on magic and Surrealism. Those tickets are $25.
