Fare Thee Well, Gypsy Wolf
Kandy Harris | December 5, 2014Did you hear that the Gypsy Wolf Cantina in Woodstock is closing its doors? We just found out from Watershed Post that owners Bill Durkin and Jorge Perez are moving on from the 25 year old business, shuttering it for good on December 28th, leaving lots of locals wondering where they will find a stronger margarita or a larger platter of enchiladas. Said Durkin: “We’re going to take a break. I love the food; I can’t say enough about it. It’s just part of our lives, and personally, we’re going to miss that. That’s not to say we’re not going to see it again.” If you’ve never been to the Gypsy Wolf to behold their zany, eclectic interior or warm up with a bowl of black bean soup, you’ve still got a few weeks. After that, you’ll have to content your Mexican food craving at the Armadillo or Diego’s Taqueria in Kingston. Or Mexican Radio in Hudson. Or Santa Fe in Tivoli. Finding a replacement for Gypsy Wolf’s potent margarita, however, won’t be quite so easy to do.
