Father’s Day Magic with Christian Cagigal
Kandy Harris | June 12, 2014Trust us, your dad doesn’t want another necktie or hilarious coffee mug. How about something different this year for Father’s Day? Something a bit more magical, perhaps? If your dad is an enchanting kind of guy, he might enjoy the magic of Christian Cagigal, who will be bringing his brand of illusion to the Bridge Street Theatre in the village of Catskill (yes, the one by the river) on Saturday June 14 (7pm & 9pm shows) and Sunday, June 15 (3pm & 7pm). SF Weekly recently name Cagigal as one of the 10 Bay Area artists on their way to becoming icons, and his fresh take on magical trickery in his show Obscura will certainly surprise and delight audience members ages 12 and up. In fact, the Chicago Stage Review called Obscura ““A captivating suspended animation of eerie alchemy and delightful drama.”Sounds prestigious to us. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. More about the show on the Bridge Street Theater’s website. Take Dad to the Barnwood Restaurant for lunch before the Sunday afternoon show for some ribs, burgers, or pulled pork.
