Hudson Is Officially Chic
Upstater | December 3, 2013In case you hadn’t noticed from the new round of high-end restaurants or the glitzy beauty product shops, now comes word from Architectural Digest that Hudson is a certifiable Destination. “…the town, two hours north of Manhattan and now gentrified in the best sense of the word, is all but unrecognizable, a mecca for antiques hunters, contemporary-design aficionados, culture vultures, and gourmands who like their greens just-picked and tasting of terroir,” they write.
They include stops in Rhinebeck and Germantown, and cover some familiar territory in Hudson, from the haute cuisine of Fish & Game to “the must-see gallery 3FortySeven, focusing on repurposed industrial salvage, midcentury furnishings, and what can only be described as far-flung exotica.” But the list is fairly exhaustive and worth perusing if you’re not already familiar with Hudson and want an itinerary with a decorator’s sensibility.
