Hudson Project Issuing Refunds for Rained-Out Festival Finale

The reviews of the Hudson Project Music and Arts Festival held at Winston Farm in Saugerties last weekend have been mixed to say the least. Some festival-goers said that despite the hasty shut-down of the festival thanks to encroaching severe thunderstorms on Sunday, it was still a good time. Others felt the heavy police/security presence, the steep prices for tickets and concessions, ill-preparedness for the bad weather, and being told they had to wait in their cars for the rain to pass rendered the festival (which some have renamed ” the Mudson Project) a bust. One thing that should help alleviate the sting, however, is that the Project will be offering refunds. Ticket purchasers, according to Hudson Project’s Facebook page, “will receive a 33% refund [if they bought a 3-day pass], all 2-Day buyers will receive a 50% refund, and Sunday-Only ticket buyers will receive a full refund.” The festival, which was held on the site of Woodstock ’94, another wet and muddy music fest, received a lot of attention, we watched it closely mainly because it was practically in our backyard. We admit we fretted over traffic and crowds, but we had no trouble navigating between Saugerties and Woodstock along Route 212, where the Festival’s south gate was located, and the village was practically a ghost town over the weekend. Read more about how the festival went and what was up with Sunday’s messy evacuation over at the Saugerties Times. We can’t help but wonder, though: What became of those awesome glamping tents? Did they survive the flood?
