Could this be the new hotel at 151 Main Street, Beacon?

The Dutchess County city of Beacon’s Planning Board caught its first glimpse of what could be the city’s newest hotel. The location would be at 151 Main Street, occupying a spot that is currently a vacant lot. The hotel’s architect, Roger Greenwald, presented the preliminary site plan to Beacon’s PB on December 10th, which includes three floors, 10 rooms, a solarium, and a retail shop. Since the hotel is very much still in the planning stages, we won’t know much more about the proposed hotel until project moves along a bit. At first blush, we think this seems like a great boon for the city. It’s not far from the train station and could help boost business at nearby shops and services. Certainly better than an empty lot, no? You can read more about the plan on the Wigwam blog. What your take on the proposed hotel on Main Street?
