New Paltz, AKA Adventure Town USA
Kandy Harris | April 28, 2015Nat Geo recently confirmed what we’ve known all along: New Paltz is awesome. So awesome, in fact, that they included the Ulster County location among their list of Top 100 Adventure Towns in the US, NG’s own version of Upstater’s eat.stay.play newsletter. New Paltz points of interest that helped bring it to Adventure Town status include recreating at Mohonk or Minnewaska Preserves and staying at Mohonk Mountain House. Two other places they specified, Beso Restaurant and Lefevre House B&B, have since closed, but we have two other suggestions to take their place.
The New Paltz village inn is located close to the Thruway, and they offer a three course breakfast. Spa facilities available. Moondance is the highest-ranking New Paltz B&B on TripAdvisor.com, so it could be worth a look. 1-800-641-4618.
We have yet to hear one bad review about this music-infused pasta restaurant in New Paltz village. Vegan/Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available upon request. We’ll take a giant order of Pesto Palooza to go, please. 845-255-1144.
See you in The Paltz!
