Reader Question: In Search of Unique Rental
Upstater | July 25, 2013Readers, can you help? We got this note from a reader who needs some crowdsourcing to find the right place to live.
“My wife and I are currently in the middle of relocating back to NY (living in Minneapolis now). I am from the area (and NW CT) and am quite familiar with most of the little towns around.
We are looking for a unique property to rent, and I was wondering if you had any tips for us. We need a space that can work as a studio (my wife is an illustrator/designer) and a space that works as a workshop (i build furniture and prototypes for clients). We have tried realtors, but they tend not to be as helpful/diligent at finding rentals. We have been searching for quite some time now and have only found a few places that could have worked, scouring Craigslist, Hudson Valley Homes, and Trulia.”
Any tips?
