Rental of the Week: Blue Pearl Cottage, Woodstock
Kandy Harris | July 31, 2012We were just looking at the calendar the other day and realized with horror that school will be starting soon (September 5 for us in Saugerties), which means that summer fun will be dwindling down before we know. “NOOOOOO!” you’re thinking. Us, too. But there’s still some days left, so why not take a vacation? And how about taking it in this adorable cottage located in Woodstock? It’s truly lovely and romantic, with luscious silk curtains draped across windows, Oriental rugs on the hardwood floors, and rooms swathed in shades of purple, mauve, and gold. Outside, there’s a big in-ground pool [update 6/5: the property managers have informed us that the pool is no longer open] and plenty of room to BBQ (gas grill included) or lounge in the sun.
The cottage is located at the end of Wiley Lane just close to town (GMAP) and not far from one of our favorite restaurants in Woodstock, Yum Yum Noodle Bar. If you’ve never been there, don’t hesitate, especially if you love giant, steaming bowls full of noodles and deliciousness.
The Blue Pearl is bookable year round, $275/night and $1675/week during the summer with a two night minimum. During the winter, the rates are a very doable $145/weekday night. More information, and lots more pictures, on Blue Pearl website.
