Rental of the Week: Maple Grove in Germantown, $1500/two nights
Kandy Harris | April 10, 2012Poor, oft-neglected Germantown. You are so frequently overlooked in favor of your other, more popular east-of-Hudson neighbors, like Rhinebeck and Tivoli. We think Germantown deserves its day (or, at least, post) in the sun, and we were pleasantly surprised at the number of nice vacation rentals available there.
Maple Grove, located on route 9G is about 2 miles south of the Germantown center, is a restored center hall Colonial with 5 bedrooms and an inviting-looking in-ground pool. Could sleep 14, according to the Maple Grove website, and has a minimum 2-night stay starting at $1500. Includes cable on flatscreen TVs, wireless Internet, screened-in deck, and a grill. If $1500/two-night stay seems steep, that’s because it is. That’s why this might rental be a good choice for a large group vacation so the pain can be spread out a bit. House is close Hudson, Tivoli, Rhinebeck, and Red Hook.
Since wedding season grows nigh, it’s worth mentioning that Maple Grove may be available for wedding guest/special event accommodations for functions held at the Apple Barn Farm in Livingston, a few miles to the east. More info on that venue on the Apple Barn Farm website.
Here’s a GMAP (note: This is an approximate location).
