RoTW: Saugerties Waterfront Cottage

saugerties creekside

Our little mini-love affair with creekside fun continues this afternoon, this time with the rental property in Saugerties situated along the Esopus Creek, right near the heart of the village. Owner Robin Kramer, who lives in Woodstock, bought the c.1930s Sears kit cottage in 1992 and proceeded to deck it out in furniture and decor purchased from Saugerties. You can see what it used to look like on her blog. And while we like the old shabby-chic look, we REALLY like its new design courtesy her daughter, Daisy Kramer Bolle, owner of Saugerties fashion boutique DIG, and her husband Van. Now its interior look is sleek, modern, and sophisticated, and we are digging the gun-metal grey exterior with that yellow door that pops. Plus, renters get private access to the Esopus Creek right outside the back door and a five minute drive will put them in the village for restaurants, shops, etc. Rates during the busy season are $490/night or $2,300 for a week (May 23-July 6), with a week’s minimum stay required for the high season ($4,000/week). Rates are cheapest Nov 1-Nov 25 at $132/weekday night (2 night min). There are still some dates available late June through early July, and August is completely open. More info here and on FB.
