Saugerties Holiday in the Village Dec. 7

holiday in the village

The holidays have descended, whether we like it or not. We happen to like it just fine, especially since the holidays mean local celebrations galore. Saugerties’ Holiday in the Village is one of our favorite such events, and this year, it takes place this Sunday, December 7. The happenings kick off at noon with a DJ spinning holiday tunes in the Reis municipal parking lot (that’s the one on the corner of Main and Market Streets – look for the “Dump Here Never” mural) and continues through the afternoon with local businesses decorated to the nines in holiday finery, as well as prize raffles, children’s activities, food, beverages, local arts/crafts for sale, face painting, and free horse-drawn carriage ridge around the village streets 1-4pm. The village menorah lighting is at 5pm at the Reis lot, followed by the firetruck parade (wave to Santa, kids!) to Seamon Park for the annual tree lighting and “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” reading. It’s great fun for everyone and the perfect chance to drop in on Saugerties and experience it at its most shiny and festive. Check out the full schedule of events here on the Saugerties Tourism Facebook page. See you in Saugerties, merry-makers!
