Saugerties Mystery House, $69,900
Kandy Harris | January 27, 2014
What makes this relatively attractive house in the village of Saugerties a mystery? Well, we drive by it nearly every day since it’s on our way to Kingston via Route 9W south, and every time we do, we play a game called “Find the Driveway”. So far, we’ve had no luck ascertaining where the driveway to this house might be located. In fact, it seems to be lacking any entrance or egress all together. We’ve speculated that the entrance is actually around turn on Route 9W, but we’re not entirely sure. Here’s what we do know: It’s located right along the Esopus Creek, walking distance to the village beach. It’s also down the hill from the heart of the village, so it’s convenient to lots of things. We like that it’s tucked back into the woods in a clearing, and while the inside looks like it needs some updating, it looks okay.
