Spend the Weekend on a Boat for $150/night
Kandy Harris | August 27, 2015Have you ever slept on a boat? Well, now you can, right on the Rondout Creek. The “River Princess,” a 43-foot cruiser parked at a marina in Port Ewen, and it’s available for overnight or weekend stays. Not only can you sleep on the boat, cook on the boat, and relax on the boat, guests also have access to the marina amenities, including a pool, playground, outdoor grills, and a seasonal cafe. Sleeps four “comfortably,” according to the listing, but could accommodate more. We love the idea of renting a floating room for the weekend (or even just one night; the 2-night minimum stay is for only for holiday weekends) and being gently rocked to sleep at night by the subtle movements of the water underneath us. It’s like sleeping in a waterbed without the back pain from sleeping in a waterbed. Oh, one thing, though: The boat doesn’t leave the marina, so if you were hoping for a cruise to the Hudson, you’ll have to get tickets for the Teal. Looks like the River Princess is still available Saturday night into Sunday. What are you waiting for? Your ship just came in.
