Get Stuck on Rondout Valley Farms

Corn Cow Company director and artist Maria Reidelbach hopes families stick with buying from farms in Ulster and Dutchess County, so she’s created the “Stick to Local Farms” campaign to help bring that hope to fruition. The campaign, according to a recent press release, is designed to be a fun way for kids and their parents to frequent Rondout Valley Farms by offering rewards for visiting them. Here’s how it works: Participants pick up a map of the farms, and when they show up to one of the farms, they get a sticker on their map (the map is shown above, but bigger so you can actually read stuff on it). Once they’ve filled up their map with farm stickers, they receive a big fancy sticker embellished with sunbeams, animals, chocolate, and unicorns (okay, we made up those last two things). Maps can be picked up for free from “hundreds of locations in Ulster and Dutchess Counties,” but the website doesn’t specify exactly where to get them. But since Slow Roots Farm gives out stickers from their farmstand at the Saugerties Farmer’s Market, we’ll bet you a dollar you can get a map from there at the very least. If all else fails, email maria@corncow.com to receive a map. Reidelbach said that she created this campaign because, “I love wholesome, delicious, local food, and I love our local farms and farmers – it’s a big reason that I live here in the mid-Hudson Valley.” And hey, who doesn’t love stickers, right?
