The Mayor’s Old Pad in Beacon, $232,500

  |  October 22, 2012

Kinda pricey for a fixer-upper, but what potential this Italianate can claim.

One of Beacon’s mayors once lived here, so goes the lore. It’s set back from the road, with what could again be a beautiful garden. Pocket doors, working fireplaces, garage and wine cellar. It’s one block from downtown and only five minutes to MetroNorth. Great for someone who wants easy access to the big city, and who wants something grand and in town.

The line we’ve often heard about renovating in the city is expect at least $150,000 a floor for gutting something. What do you think it might cost to renovate this four-bed, four-bath, 2,380-square foot house?

11 Commerce Street, Beacon. $232,500. GMAP.
