The Who’s Tommy and “Back to Black” Back-to-Back @ Bearsville, May 23
Kandy Harris | May 20, 2015Castaway Players‘ production of the Who’s rock opera Tommy was so popular when it premiered back in January that it’s coming back for an encore performance this Saturday, May 23 at the Bearsville Theater (GMAP). This time, however, Tommy comes with the plus-one. Remember Jones will be offering his interpretation of Amy Winehouse’s seminal 2006 album Back to Black. That right; the whole album. We don’t know about you, but we pretty much disintegrated our CD copy of this album after playing it too many times, so we’re intrigued by Remember Jones’ reimagining of Winehouse’s second and final album before passing away at the age of 27 in 2011. Both shows take place on the same night for the price of a single show ($25 advance/$30 door), so dust off your pinball machine, put on some heavy black eyeliner, and get ready to rock.
