Unemployment Rises in Mid-Hudson and Catskills
Upstater | June 20, 2012Lots of folks itching to move upstate full time have one big question: where will I work? Well, bad news for those of you asking: unemployment is on the rise in the area.
Here are the stats, per the Daily Freeman.
Ulster County: 8.8 percent in May, up from 8.2 percent in April and 7.8 percent in May 2011.
Dutchess County: 8.2 percent, up from 8.4 percent in April and 7.3 percent in May 2011.
Greene County: 9.6 percent, up from 9.4 percent in April and 8.5 percent in May 2011.
Sullivan County: 9.7 percent, up from 9.4 percent in May 2011.
Delaware County: 9.0 percent, up from 8.7 in May 2011.
Orange County: 8.3 percent, from 8.2 and 7.5.
Columbia County made out the best: 7.2 percent, sames as in April and 7.0 percent in May 2011.
