Welcome to the Neighborhood, Brushland Eating House
Kandy Harris | May 9, 2014A new restaurant is set to open in Bovina, Delaware County, in the building where Two Old Tarts used to be located. The Brushland Eating House will be throwing open the doors to their newly-freshened and renovated space on Wednesday, May 14th, and yep. We’re excited. We get excited about food. Brushland will be owned and operated by NY food industry vet Sohail Zandi and Chef Jordan Terry will be running the show in the kitchen. Terry’s resume is impressive, having previously worked at Prime Meats and Dear Bushwick in Brooklyn. The Brushland will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner made from local ingredients Wednesdays and Thursdays 5:30 pm – 10 pm, Fridays 5:30 pm – 11 pm, Saturdays 10 am – 3 and 5:30 – 11 pm, and Sundays 10 am – 3 and 5:30 – 10 pm. We’ve only seen a couple of photos, but we like Zandi’s work with the interior. Where Two Old Tarts was more focused on a country vibe, Brushland keeps the country but puts a modern, sophisticated spin on the things. As for the food, we can’t wait to try it out. Two Old Tart fans: Do not despair. They’ve moved operations over to Andes, and rumor has it, they’re looking for a chef. Brushland also has a rental space available. More details on that here.
