Call for Women Artists for Residency at Catskills’ Stoneleaf Retreat
Kandy Harris | February 14, 2018Located on 20 acres in the Catskills, Stoneleaf Retreat provides a sanctuary for artists-in-residence…
Stoneleaf Retreat is looking for women artists for their 2018 residency program. It runs from April to August and consists of four three-week long residencies for a total of 12 participating artists. And, if you send in your submission now, you could one of those lucky artists living and working in a seriously gorgeous Catskill Mountain setting.
Although women artists in all mediums are encouraged to apply, according to Stoneleaf’s residency information, “preference will be given to artists with a focus on social practice.” Residency artists will share living quarters with other artists. Artists also share studio space, as well as the run of the remote, 20-acre farm during their stay. And, Stoneleaf provides an evening meal for artists-in-residence and guests to mingle and share ideas.
Additionally, each residency includes weekly trips to nearby Woodstock and Kingston, and it all culminates in open-to-the-public studio nights exhibiting artists’ work. Think of the networking possibilities!
