Woodstock Creekside Ranch, $760,000
Kandy Harris | May 13, 2014
Zena Road in Woodstock runs parallel to the Sawkill River, and it also happens to be one of the prettiest stretches of road in the area (in our opinion; some may disagree). We love to drive it and watch the Sawkill go through changes based on season and weather: Frozen and festooned with icicles in the winter, muddy and turbid after the rain, green and translucent and inviting during the hotter months, resplendent with golden sparkles from the sunshine. We’ve often fantasized about living near it, but storms and floods have turned us jaded toward creekside living. This property, however, has reawakened our waterfront living fantasies, because although it overlooks the Sawkill (you can see it from the dining room through glass walls or from the deck), Floodsmart.gov gives it a moderate to low flood risk rating. Combine that with the country-chic interior of the house with walls of windows, a one-room guest cottage, and a nearly 6 acre lot size, and it’s safe to say that we are swooning.
