the best of both worlds.

We spend a lot of time talking about homes for aspiring Upstaters, but plenty of Upstate residents go down to the city for work, entertainment, dining, school, and shopping. Like the Hudson River itself, whose tide flows both ways, the exchange between the Hudson Valley and New York City is constant—a dynamic push and pull of city and country, culture and commerce, work and play. If you’re in the market for an apartment that allows you the best of both worlds—easy access to all of Manhattan and a quick escape route Upstate—a new Harlem condo may just be for you.

Eleven Hancock is a gleaming new condominium building from Nortco Development located between Morningside Avenue and St. Nicholas Ave at 124th Street in the center of Harlem’s bustling music, art, and culinary scene. Designed by Isaac & Stern Architects, the 12-story industrial-chic building features a gravity-defying cantilever that flies out over the building next door. The building’s 71 apartments will come in a mix of sizes, from studios to four-bedrooms, with prices starting at $598,000. Apartments are currently for sale, and occupancy is expected by mid-summer.

The apartments’ sleek interiors are designed by acclaimed design firm Lemay + Escobar. All the residences feature wide European white oak flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The luxurious, minimalist kitchens are outfitted by Cesar, a custom kitchen brand whose products are all crafted in Italy. The kitchens will also feature white Calacatta quartz countertops, as well as high-end appliances like matte black Kohler faucets, Miele refrigerators and stoves, and Summit wine fridges.

Over 50 percent of the apartments will have access to private outdoor space, and some will include rooftop cabanas that come with their own grills for easy outdoor entertaining. All residents will have access to two large outdoor spaces—a roof deck with grand views of the city and a cozier garden terrace. The building has amenities galore, including a full fitness center stocked with Peloton bikes, a resident’s lounge, children’s playroom, and a pet spa.

The newly finished building will soon have a model apartment available for viewing, and prospective residents can preview furnishings and other details at Eleven Hancock’s off-site Sales Gallery located at 2298 Frederick Douglass Blvd.
