Zadock Pratt Museum on WAMC’s The Roundtable

The Zadock Pratt Museum in Prattsville, Greene County got a little public radio love this morning from Joe Donahue on WAMC’s Roundtable program. Andy Reid of the Pratt Museum and Dr. Kevin Avery, a Senior Research Scholar at the MET were on hand to talk about the Kaaterskill Clove: Where Nature Met Art exhibit going on now through Columbus Day weekend at the museum. The exhibit is meant to raise awareness about human impacts on the Kaaterskill Clove thanks to an influx of tourists trashing the local swimming holes and spraying graffiti on rocks. An important issue, to be sure, and it was nice to hear about one of our favorite small town museums in the Catskills, which was closed down for a while after Irene flooding. You can hear Joe’s interview in its entirety here on the WAMC website (click “listen” under the heading). Unfortunately, the Pratt Museum’s website seems to be either down or non-existent, but we can tell you they are open daily 10am-5pm, and that they’re located on Washington Street in the hamlet of Prattsville (GMAP). Find out more on their Facebook page.
