New Paltz’s Phillies Bridge Farm Project is both educational and ecological, demonstrating local agriculture that is “local agriculture that is ecologically sound, community oriented, and economically viable,” according to its mission statement.

The project includes a “Farm to Families” program, which “provides CSA shares and farm visits to our partner social service organizations, which distribute our fresh produce to families in need throughout the region, and incorporate our vegetables into educational and outreach programs. Through our combined efforts in 2012, items from fifteen CSA shares reached 500-1,000 individuals in our community.”
Sounds, good, right? If you think so, consider signing up for their April 17 benefit. Tickets are $70 per person, ($60 is a direct donation to the 2013 Farm to Families program.) Sign up here.
