Asymmetrical Accommodations in Lexington, $190,000
Elizabeth Wilson | January 22, 2015We don’t see any inflatable furniture or glow-in-the-dark stars pictured, but we were still pleased to find some essence of the ‘90s in this spacious contemporary home. The combination of minimalist design and blank white walls in the foyer creates an open, welcoming space, inviting visitors to spend some down time in the sunny living room. The wall-to-wall carpeting trend of the late 20th century is alive and well in the upstairs bedrooms, and might be making a comeback anyway, so we would embrace the look and invest in a great vacuum cleaner. We’re digging the gaudy bathtub as well – it may inspire us to (finally) take that bubble bath we’ve been daydreaming about since we ran across the bathroom at this contemporary last July.
There are a few ways to get from the thruway to this asymmetrical abode – we recommend the route that goes straight through Hunter and past the beautiful peaks of Windham. And what better way to round off a scenic drive through the mountains than some quality time by that funky wood-burning stove….
