Ten Months Later: Middletown Gothic Victorian Now $250,000
Kandy Harris | January 5, 2016We’re reposting this glorious Gothic Victorian rehab waiting to happen for two reasons: First, since we posted about it back in March 2015, the price has been reduced from $299,000 to $250,000, and a $49,000 decrease in price is substantial enough to warrant a second look. Secondly, it gives us the chance to correct a mistake in the first post. This house is NOT in Sullivan County. It’s squarely in Orange County, just a little over the midway point between Pine Bush and the city of Middletown. That’s a bit of a bummer, because the taxes are certainly higher in Orange than Sullivan. Ah well. Can’t win them all.
But really, we’re posting this for a third reason. Look at this place. We cannot believe a home restorer hasn’t taken this incredible house in hand and fixed it up. Perhaps the fact that it requires a new kitchen, plumbing, heating system, and baths, not to mention chimney repair. In other words, we’re talking a studs-out rehab. And, cash buyers/those with rehab loans only need inquire. And AND, the barns on the property aren’t included. Come to think of it, the fact that this hasn’t sold yet isn’t such a mystery, after all. Good thing ogling is free!
