Colorful Coxsackie Victorian + Barn on 3 Village Lots, $218,000
Kandy Harris | February 10, 2016We can’t have a week devoted to Victorians without talking about Coxsackie. Remember when we mentioned one of our favorite weekend activities? Well, the Hudson River town up in Greene County is among our favorite places to explore the local architecture, followed up by a walk down by the waterfront.
Coxsackie, which includes a historic district full of great old buildings (lots of them restored, in spite of many near the waterfront sitting empty), is home to oodles of Victorians with more than a few affordable beauties currently on the market. This particular Victorian has maple floors, 3 beds/1 bath with potential for making the den a bedroom or the attic a master suite. Or, why not turn the old barn that comes with it into a separate living space? Does anyone have a detached master suite? Why isn’t that more of a thing? For those of us with older kids, a detached master suite might sound like a really, really good idea.
While the property consists of three lots, all equaling out to nearly an acre of land, one of those lots is a big circular driveway. The backlot seems fairly well-obscured by trees and large enough to accommodate a garden.
161 Mansion Street, Coxsackie (Keller Williams)
