A c.1938 Cape Cod with Vintage Details in Peekskill: $369K

Like most Hudson Valley cities, Peekskill has a mix of newer and older homes. Today, Upstater visits a c.1938 Cape Cod with vintage details. It just needs a bit of work.

The house has three bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The exterior and yard are rundown.

The porch is gouged and needs repair.

But this sunroom almost makes up for all of that. Original wood wainscoting clothes the space, and it has a bluestone floor.

Tongue-and-groove covers the ceiling, too.

The kitchen is modern, with stainless steel appliances, ceramic floor tile, and black cabinetry. Glass mosaic tiles form the backsplash.

Original trim throughout the house is painted a deep black.

This is actually the front door, surrounded by a stone exterior.

The entry opens to a wooden stairwell, hardwood flooring, and a bank of beautifully trimmed windows.

A rustic fireplace commands one wall, flanked by windows and topped with an aqua accent.

One of the three bedrooms is on the first floor. It has a new-looking floor.

This one needs touchups, and the floor needs to be refinished. Still, it’s a nice space, with an angled ceiling and lots of storage space.

The full bath has an intricate ceramic-tile floor, a standalone tub, and white wall tile along with a pedestal sink.

The house is on a quarter-acre that’s close to Route 9.

The yard would be a gardener’s dream with a little elbow grease.
