A Family-Friendly Cape Cod in Hurley with a Pool: $525K
Jane Anderson | September 4, 2023Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer. It’s usually the time to wrap up hot-weather fun; but since this week is shaping up to be a sizzler, Upstater is focusing on homes that have refreshing pools.
This Cape Cod has an above-ground pool in its backyard. The front is inviting, too, with brick on a covered lower level, decent landscaping, beige siding with red-brown shutters, two cute roof dormers, and a sunroom entrance.
The sunroom has a painted-wood floor and plenty of room to lounge and dine.
The front door opens to the staircase and the living room. A three-sashed picture window spills sunlight onto the hardwood floor.
There’s a nice brick fireplace anchoring another wall in the living room.
The country kitchen has a ceramic tile floor and a U-shaped layout with oak cabinets and matte-black appliances including a French door fridge and a dual-oven electric range.
The main-level full bath is skinny but manages to hold a modern vanity and glass-door shower.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor and two bedrooms upstairs. This first bedroom retains the rich wood trim that likely graced the home when it was first built in 1956.
This bedroom has a nice wood floor, too, but it’s modernized with white trim and gray walls. A long, low cabinet can serve as a window seat under the wide window.
Upstairs, this bedroom has a closet and lots of room for nightstands and dressers. It, too, has a gray-and-white color scheme, and a ceiling fan…
…as does this bedroom, with a dormer alcove.
The bathroom up here has a clawfoot tub and separate shower with a handheld shower system. The modern gray vanity is topped with a white sink.
The basement is finished, fully carpeted, and has a full bath, too. It’s accessible from the kitchen and from that lower-level door you saw in the first image.
There’s also a screened-in porch for warm summer nights.
And when it’s too warm, head onto the Trex deck and into the swimming pool.
The property measures just over a half-acre and includes a nice playground set and an adorable playhouse in the same color scheme as the house.
This cute 1,756-square-foot Cape is three miles from Uptown Kingston, and close to Route 209 for an easy ride to Rhinebeck or Accord.
