A Three-Bedroom Split-Level Near Hiking and Wineries: $475K

  |  November 2, 2023

Upstater is visiting this c.1963 brick split-level situated between Gardiner and New Paltz.

It’s got a two-car garage connected to the house via a breezeway. The hipped roof is a nice centerpiece to the facade. Concrete steps curve up from the driveway to a pathway before continuing to the front door.

The big living room has oak floors finished with walnut oil.

The dining area is in a corner of the kitchen, next to the living room. It has a picture window and a door to the backyard.

The kitchen has white cabinets topped with butcher-block counters, and a tile floor.

It’s got a minimalist feel with no upper cabinets or shelves on the white walls. A tray ceiling is overhead, with a half-moon ceiling light. Stainless-steel appliances include a French-door fridge and electric range.

There are three bedrooms on the main level, and all three have oiled-oak floors and ductless mini-split ventilators.

This bedroom has a built-in closet system and lights so you can easily pick out what to wear each day.

The only bathroom in the house is off this hall that has a built-in storage bench and shelves.

The bathroom has pale tile on the walls, that nice wood floor like that throughout the house, and a white subway-tile vanity.

If you can peel your eyes from the adorable dollhouse bunk bed, you’ll see this room is in good shape, with white walls and two windows.

The third bedroom is kind of small but pretty nonetheless.

The lower level has a laundry room with cabinets (and a missing drawer—the house is being sold “as-is,” but the price leaves room for the new owner to fulfill their imaginative ideas).

A second room down here could be a good home office.

And the third room is currently being used as a playroom.

That breezeway has a ceiling that’s half-skylights and could be good for entertaining in the warmer months. The house is on 1.14 acres, with room in the backyard for playing, gardening, and relaxing. It’s close to hiking at Mohonk Preserve and lots of wineries.
