A Warwick Village Two-Bedroom for $349K
Jane Anderson | June 26, 2023Warwick is a town that has nearly anything anyone would want: A booming Main Street, rich farmland, good schools, and lots of fun to be had for both adults and kids.
Situated in the southwestern edge of Orange County, on the border of New Jersey, the town of Warwick encompasses three villages—Warwick, Greenwood Lake, and Florida—each of which has a character all its own. Today, Upstater finds itself at this classic two-story that’s just a few blocks from Warwick’s village center.
The 1,166-square-foot house was built in 1890, but is in great condition. A metal roof protects the covered front porch, which has Roman shades for privacy.
There’s a traditional porch swing hung from the ceiling, and room for a rocking chair or two.
The entry continues the classic theme, with a side-hall staircase angling its way up on one end of the living room…
…and lots of windows to splash sunlight along the hardwood floors.
Through a doorway from the living room is the dining room, which has a natural-toned, tongue-and-groove wooden ceiling, hardwood floors, and nice wood trim. A modern globe chandelier hangs over the dining table.
The dining room is a generous size, and leads into the kitchen.
The kitchen has the same stunning ceiling treatment, and a ceramic-tile floor. White cabinetry is topped with butcher-block countertops, and appliances are stainless steel.
This mudroom is perfect for stashing outerwear, and has a door to the backyard. A separate laundry room has a half-bath for convenience, too.
The primary bedroom has rich wood flooring and pale walls. It’s large in size, and has access to the unfinished, walk-up attic—perhaps some potential additional bedrooms, with a little work?
The second bedroom is smaller but still beautifully finished with a nice hardwood floor and wood window trim.
The bathroom is big, with a granite-topped vanity and a charming clawfoot tub.
Alas, that red barn belongs to the neighbor, but that two-story gray garage is all yours. The property is 0.08 acre—just large enough for a raised-bed garden and some room for kids or pets to romp. The house’s location is excellent: It’s just a 10-minute walk to Main Street, where you can eat at Eddie’s Roadhouse; grab a loaded candy apple or other sweets at the Candy Apple Shoppe; or pop in to Newhard’s for everything home-related and gifty. And its price point is rare for a house in Warwick nowadays, meaning it probably won’t last long on the market.
