US 9 north of Red Hook

Northern Dutchess County on the east side of the Hudson River is what we imagine you’re imagining when you’re thinking about living in the Hudson Valley. While there’s no shortage of rolling agrarian landscapes and lush greenery (in the warmer months) as far as the eye can see, the area is not without its refinements. The villages of Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and Tivoli all offer a generous slice of sophistication out here in the sticks, including art galleries galore, music venues, renowned theater productions, boutique shops, and every kind of food you can come up with in your most vivid of locavore dreams, not to mention stellar schools and lots of outdoor fun. Don’t even get us started on the houses. Actually, do get us started, because that’s why we’re here. Northern Dutchess is rife with historical properties, sprawling farmhouses, mid-century moderns, and all kinds of real estate eye candy. So join us this week as we take a real estate lover’s tour around the countryside, perhaps stopping along the way to enjoy a walkable village or two. Stay tuned…
