Coxsackie Cape Cod for $349K
Jane Anderson | August 8, 2023Today’s Upstater pick is a little west of the village of Coxsackie—literally: It’s in West Coxsackie. It’s a lovely Cape Cod, with four bedrooms, three baths, and a barn-turned-entertainment-cave.
The 2,300-square-foot house has clean lines on the outside, with light brown siding and twin dormers peeking out of the brown shingled roof. A red barn sits nearby.
A bluestone path winds its way to the front door.
The entry is a traditional Cape Cod look, with a staircase across from the front door and a picture window above the sofa. The hardwood floors look original to the house’s 1961 build.
The main kitchen has floors that look hand-scraped; dark cabinets and white quartz counters; and plenty of room for a dining table.
This den has hardwood floors and bright windows.
The first-floor bedroom is a decent size, but not overwhelming. It’s got a hardwood floor.
The bathroom has a tub/shower and a square pedestal sink. Can we please let hollow-core doors die a natural death? Just saying — because they don’t lend any character at all to the space they occupy.
The house has a mother-daughter suite with a full kitchen. White appliances match the white cabinets.
A carpeted living room leads to a combination bathroom/laundry room.
Because why not take care of two things at once?
The bathroom’s roomy and has a nice, granite-topped square vanity along with a washer/dryer.
This upstairs room has interesting angles, and full carpeting.
This bedroom’s got rust-colored walls and sculpted wall-to-wall carpet.
The third bedroom is cozy with full carpeting and sage-green walls.
The bathroom has tumbled-stone tile flooring and a shower stall.
This bedroom is long and lean, with blue walls and carved carpeting.
The red barn is charming, just off the driveway.
The current owner decided to forego the usual tractor storage for an entertainment-cave aesthetic.
The house sits on two-thirds of an acre, and isn’t far from the Hudson River and downtown Coxsackie. So if this Cape Cod strikes you, find out more about 50 Schoolhouse Lane, West Coxsackie, from JoAnne Adamo Conway with Heart Land Realty.
