Destinations: Edna St. Vincent Millay’s Treasures From Steepletop
Kandy Harris | January 16, 2014Author Edna St. Vincent Millay loved Steepletop, her 800 acre escape in the Columbia County hamlet of Austerlitz. A new exhibit showing her content life at Steepletop is set to open at McDaris Fine Art in Hudson (map) with a reception on February 22, Millay’s birthday, from 5:30-9:30. The exhibit will feature photos and items that have been kept at Steepletop, perfectly preserved since her death in 1950. This will be the first time these will be on display outside if Millay’s estate. A photo of Steepletop by Glynnis McDaris will also be auctioned off during the reception. The proceeds from this event will go right back into maintaining Steepletop and keeping it lovely and pristine.
