Eclectic Gothic Revival in Cornwall-on-Hudson (Sale Pending?), $449,000

  |  December 26, 2016

We know, we know. It appears to be pending sale, and we tend to shy away from looking too closely at these. The disappointment is too unbearable. However, being the eternal optimists that we are, we thought we’d show it to you, anyway, because you just never know what’s going to happen with these things. Hey, 2017 could be your year!

Also, look at this amazing place. It’s worth feasting your eyes on the listing photos – even if some lucky buyer is about to snatch it off the market – simply for its old-world charm (elements of an Italian villa), its unusual look (it’s not often we find a Gothic Vic/Colonial), and its size. That’s right, The c.1860 home is deceptively large with five bedrooms, three baths, and over 2300 square feet. That makes it decidedly family-friendly. Additionally, the spacious kitchen and dining room with hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances look like just the places we would want to spend weekends making family meals and entertaining friends. Outside, the lot size is over a half-acre in size with garden beds and two-car garage.

The hamlet of Cornwall-on-Hudson in Orange County is packed with kid-friendly stuff. The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is renowned for its children’s educational programs. Storm King Art Center is minutes away, as is Black Rock Forest Consortium. GreatSchools.org gives Cornwall Central Schools an admirable 8/10 rating.

If it’s all too much for you that this gorgeous home is ‘sale pending,’ here’s another Cornwall beauty listed at a similar price to take the sting out of it.

22 Cherry Avenue, Cornwall-on-Hudson (Sotheby’s)
