Finally: a Catskills-Brooklyn Housing Swap

Our hope is to become the future hub of housing swaps between upstate New York and New York City. But the problem has historically been that New Yorkers are desperate for a place upstate, and Upstaters are less interested than spending time in New York City. Guess all that, you know, fresh air and space and lack of gas shortages seems pretty darned attractive right about now.

But here’s one we saw on Craiglist: a “Spacious and Inspiring Magical Catskill Retreat House,” as the owner describes it, and it does look appealing to us. It has “two full bedrooms, a huge lofted living area and office/den replete with a sage filled meadow and bubbling stream. It’s very private yet minutes walking to the town main street.” It’s in Sullivan County, and we’re working on narrowing down the exact location. Anybody interested? We like it, but we wouldn’t mind seeing the living room tidied…
