Today is Five-Figure Friday, and Upstater is looking at a three-bedroom Cape Cod in Callicoon/Jeffersonville that needs work, but has potential.
It was built in 1954 and has the usual fixer-upper issues for a home south of $100,000. It’s right on the road, too, but it’s a good size—1,332 square feet—with a two-car garage.
The front room has a wood floor that just seems to need buffing and finishing. The staircase is wood, too, and appears to be in good condition.
The kitchen’s a bit of a shambles, but has a good floor.
This main-level room has peeling paint and a worn floor.
This room’s wood floor and blue paint are in better shape.
Upstairs are three bedrooms. This one is a good size but needs an overhaul. The blue room off the side is a walk-in closet.
This room has built-in shelves.
The floor looks great in this room, but the ceiling and walls need fixing.
There’s a half bath on the main floor, and this full bath, too (but we’re not sure if it’s on the main or second floor). We can see a tub behind the door, and the floor looks good. The new owner would probably want to revamp the vanity.
The house sits on 1.5 acres, and backs up to Lake Jefferson, according to the listing. It’s under 20 minutes to the center of Callicoon for provisions and gas. Good eats and brews can be had at Callicoon Brewing Co. there, too. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is about the same drivetime from here, too.
