Lots of Room and Lots of Light in this Peekskill Victorian, $289,000
Kandy Harris | March 22, 2016Talk about curb appeal. The photo doesn’t really do it justice, but this c.1893 Victorian shines from its location in the city of Peekskill. And it’s spacious, too, at 1700 square feet with 3 beds/1.5 baths. The space doesn’t end on the inside, though, as the backyard looks roomy enough for outdoor fun and gardening.
Our favorite features include the paned windows on the enclosed front porch, all the built-in shelves and cabinetry, and the extra attic room that would definitely be our home office/music studio. Not-so-favorite features: The shared driveway, and the taxes. And, while this isn’t exactly a feature of the house, we hear that the Peekskill schools aren’t the best around, definitely an outlier in Westchester County. However, the schools are walking distance from this property, as is the Metro-North station, the Paramount Theater, restaurants, shops, and more.
235 Ringgold Street, Peekskill (Houlihan Lawrence)
