Here’s our write-up of Hancock in Delaware County. It’s practically in PA, situated right on the NY border along the shores of the Delaware River. A small town with a Main Street that includes businesses and amenities, Hancock is known for its picturesque Catskill surroundings and good fishing. For us, Hancock and other towns like it in Delaware County represents the opportunity to ogle some lovely houses at bargain prices, like this c.1920s Victorian located walking distance from the main drag. Resplendent with original details, this house, according to the listing, has never had a drop of paint added to it. Includes an unfinished basement and a pond (apparently, but there’s no photographic evidence). Hancock seems like it might be too far abroad, but Google Maps puts 2.5 hours from Manhattan.
