We’d like to conclude pool week with a journey to Dutchess County, a scenic cluster of towns and villages right in between the Hudson River and the border of Connecticut. It’s exactly the type of place where one would expect to find a spacious contemporary (+ pool!) on three acres for less than $200k, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t feel a little burst of excitement anyway when we saw this asymmetrical chalet in Rhinebeck. We’re usually very vocal when it comes to adding a little color to blank walls, but in this case, we love the contrast created by the white paint and the dark, chocolatey shades of wood that appear throughout the house. It’s dramatic for sure, but we bet you wouldn’t have been lured in by this property to begin with if you weren’t at least an occasional proponent of flair.
