Speaking of Tiny Towns: Check out Fleischmanns NY

While we were just talking about our favorite tiny towns last week, we were remiss in unintentionally excluding our neighbor to the northwest, Fleischmanns. The Delaware County village boasts a population of around 340 residents as well as historic houses and the kind of sleepy pace you can expect to find in the Catskill Mountains. It was also recognized by onlyinyourstate.com as number 7 on its list entitled “Most People Didn’t Know These 13 Super Tiny Towns in New York Exist.” Clunky, click-bait-y title aside, it was nice to see the hidden historic Catskills town get some appreciation.

Spillian, a Fleischmanns lodge/special events venue, was also mentioned. We love Spillian with its rustic Craftsman feel, and we also love its location near Big Indian Forest, Belleayre Mountain, Margaretville, and now, the Union Grove Distillery in nearby Arkville (more on that tomorrow). One thing are we are curious about, however, is the Maxbilt Theater in Fleischmanns, which we mentioned back in September 2014.
