Splendid, Spacious Victorian in Athens, $1800/month
Kandy Harris | December 7, 2015We couldn’t sit on this Athens village beauty for too long. For less than $2000/month, you get a 2300-sq. ft. meticulously renovated house with 3 beds/2.5 baths, and all the historic details at which you can shake a stick (arched bay windows, pocket doors, double parlors, and 10 ft. ceilings, oh my!), situated in one of the prettiest little towns west of the Hudson River (and also west of the city of Hudson). How do we know it’s been renovated? If you go to the Google Map Streetview, you can see that the house once had a covered porch and was a different color. And, we remember it thusly from passing through Athens a number of times.
The house is perched up on a small hill so the interior will be, no doubt, bathed in light. Added bonus: The fanciest two-seater outhouse you’ve ever seen (scroll at the way to the bottom of the page). Don’t worry; it’s now a garden shed. The facilities are civilized and located indoors. Ah, modern life!
