The Athens-Hudson Ferry Is Open
Upstater | May 30, 2012It’s less a mode of transportation than a tourist attraction, but the Athens-Hudson Ferry has reopened, restoring a part of Athens’ history (the ferry stopped there in the 18th century) and hopefully boosting the town’s profile.
The Little Spirit runs on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 to 10PM. It leaves Hudson on the hour, and Athens on the half-hour. It’s $10 roundtrip, and seems like the start of a great date night or early evening activity with the kids to us. The ferry runs through October.
They accept walk-ons but suggest calling ahead to purchase tickets, since they’re likely to sell out: 518.822.1014.
