It’s Monday! Time to Indulge in the Unattainable…
Kandy Harris | September 17, 2018Start your week off with something fantastic, like this 4.3-million-dollar, ultra-modern barn…
Welcome to the post-summer-break grind. The kids are back in school, there are no more long weekends until Columbus Day in October, and the nights are getting longer and chillier. It can be a rough re-entry for some of us, so we suggest taking a break by joining us all this week for the fanciest houses in the Hudson Valley and Catskills. Yeah, we know none of us can actually afford these places, but it’s always free to look!
So, it might seem odd that our first choice is a property we’ve described above as a “barn.” In reality, this 6,360-square-foot house is only a barn on the outside. On the inside, it’s a sleek, modernized abode with massive windows and open-concept living room/kitchen/dining room.
Speaking of the kitchen and dining room, we could shoot a cooking show in it. Or, with a set-up like this, you could have the coolest dinner parties this side of the Taconic State Parkway…
Since it’s all one big, glorious, gleaming open space, it’s basically Party Central up in here. When you’ve had enough of that, retire to one of the four glorious bedrooms and run yourself a bath in the soaking tub.
Don’t forget the cocktails. Mix up a few and sip them while taking in a film in the home’s movie theater, or burn some stress in your own home gym.
The 49.41-acre lot is ever-so-private, as any good Unattainable Home should be, with its own boating/swimming pond, outdoor dining room with stone oven, fire pits, and seating areas under the stars.
Located in rural, northern Columbia County, east of the Hudson River. Convenient to the Taconic State Parkway, Massachusetts, and the Hudson River. If you hop on the Parkway and take it south, you’ll hit the Bronx in less than two hours.
