This Week on Upstater: An Acre or More for Less than $300,000
Kandy Harris | January 25, 2016We admit that we approached this week’s theme with some degree of doubt. Is it still possible to find yourself a decent house with at least an acre of land in the Hudson Valley and Catskills?
Why, yes. Yes, it is. Color us pleasantly surprised.
Bottom line: If you can afford rent in Manhattan or Brooklyn, you can swing the mortgage on a house and good-sized piece of land up here. More importantly, if you can’t afford rent in Manhattan or Brooklyn, you can swing a mortgage on a house and land up here. So wait, why haven’t you moved up here yet?
This week, stay tuned for lots of properties listing for less than $300,000 (and many much cheaper than that) that don’t skimp on the yard space. Because we’ve all earned some elbow room.
